Maldives Cricket held a workshop for 9 participants who are currently involved in the development of school cricket. The two-day workshop was run by ACC Development Officer Rumesh Ratnayake, senior coaches of Maldives cricket and the head coach Mr. Nevomal De Silva.

The two-day workshop was run by ACCDevelopment Officer Rumesh Ratnayake, senior coaches of Maldives cricket andthe head coach Mr. Nevomal De Silva. Vice President of Cricket Board Mr.Faruhath Jaleel also participated and helped through-out the workshop. The short workshop helped CBMcoaches who were planning to attend a level 1 coaching course scheduled for August. Mr. Rumesh touched on few areas of cricket that was essential in juniorcoaching and basics of cricket. He commended the great work done by the schoolcoaches, because it was hardest part of teaching any sport. The course was run at the Indoor Cricket hall. Rumesh will also run alevel 1 coaching course with the assistance of other development officers fromAsian Cricket Council and Maldives Cricket coaches. The course is schedule to run first week ofAugust. ![]() During his short stay at Maldives Rumesh attendedthe training of girls cricket and the U16 team who are preparing for the U16ACC Challenge cup to be held in Malaysia second week of July. |
