Milan Interschool Cricket Cup began on Thursday with 11 teams from primary schools including 5 girls team and 9 boys team. The tournament began with a special ceremony attended by all the teams and parents
Milan Interschool Cricket Cup began on Thursday with 11 teams from primary schools including 5 girls team and 9 boys team. The tournament began with a special ceremony attended by all the teams and parents. The tournament was declared open by Chief Guest Hussain Shareef, who was the first centurian school boy. The ceremony was also attended by a number of veteran cricketers, The first match was played between Thajuddin and Billabong which was won by Thajuddin by 10 wkts. Billabong won the toss and decided to bat. Ibrahim Ikram who is playing for the U16 national team bowled well for Thajuddin taking two wickets. Ikram finished with 2 overs for 7 runs taking 2 wkts. Billabong made 32 runs for 5 wickets in 8 overs. In reply Thajuddin School finished the match in 4 overs. Shaamil 12 and Ikram 12 made runs each. In the second match Giyasuddin international beat Kalaafaanu by 9 wkts. Kalaafaanu won the toss and decided to bat. They managed to make 35 runs in 8 overs. Ishaam and Nazwan scored 9 runs each. Giyasuddin scored 37 in 6 overs to win the match. |
