The Cricket Board of Maldives is pleased to partner with Fuvahmulah City Council to host this competition.
The CBM Ramadan Cricket Carnival is the longest running sports competition in the Maldives and has been played in Malé for over 20 years, Fuvahmulah City for 5 years and L. Kunahandhoo for 2 years.
The 2022 Fuvahmulah men’s edition is aimed at ‘Entry Level / Beginner Players’. Also, all players must be Maldivian Nationals.

PARTICIPATION: Each team receives 1000mvr (up to a maximum of 8 teams)

GRAND FINAL
4:15pm: Dhadimagu Sixers v Fuvahmulah City Council
Winning the toss, Dhadimagu Sixers chose to bat and it was a wise choice as in-form batsman Ibrahim Areesh played a variety of shots with a big booming six over square leg.
His innings came to an end thanks to a magnificent catch in the deep by Ismail Riza scoring 19 from 10 balls.
Jinan Jaleel picked his way to 16 from 12 balls supported by Ahmed Sinah and Nauf Mohamed as the team closed in 63 from 6 Overs.
In reply, Fuvahmulah City Council began positively but the tide changed when the Batsman of the Tournament sent one into the stratosphere – caught and bowled Ibrahim Areesh.
From then on, the Dhadimagu team mastered the art of controlling the on-strike batsman, not letting Didi Sir to get to grips.
As the overs ticked by the run-rate increased so much so that 35 was required off the last 6 balls.
Fuvahmulah City Council were worthy of their place in the final and the match was played in superb cricket fashion. Utmost respect for the teams, players and officials present.
The respect for each other is something that has been lacking in the global game, but today it was a fine example of how the game should be played the juniors and cricketers of tomorrow to witness.
Dhadimagu Sixers won by 20 runs.
At the conclusion of the match, Special Guest Councillor Mohamed Ismail presented the Best Batsman Award to Ibrahim Areesh of Dhadimagu Sixers and the Best Fielder and Best Bowler Awards to Shaafiu Ali of Fuvahmulah City Council.
Fuvahmulah City Secretary General Aslam Rasheed presented the RunnersUp Trophy, Prizemoney and Participation Cheque to Fuvahmulah City Council.
A special Award was also presented to Ibrahim Areesh as Player of the Final Match for 2 catches, 1 wicket and the top scorer.
The CHAMPIONS Dhadimagu Sixers were presented with the Winners Trophy, Prizemoney of 3000rf and Participation Money of 1000rf.
The Cricket Board of Maldives wishes to thank the participating Teams, Officials and Players for their efforts to make the ‘Entry-Level Cricket Tournament’ a success and assist in the development of Cricket in Fuvahmulah City.

4:15pm: Dhadimagu Sixers v Dhoondigalona
Ibrahim Areesh player of the match as his 30 steered Dhadimagu Sixers, batting first to post a total of 65 in their 6 Overs.
In reply, the Dhoondigalona boys, without talisman and cpatain Riyan struggled against the tight bowling of the Sixers. Finishing their alloted Overs with 36 on the board.
Dhadimagu Sixers worthy of their place in the GRAND FINAL. Well done!
Dhadimagu Sixers won by 29 runs.
SEMI-FINAL 2
5:15pm: Fuvahmulah City Council v Friends Club Funaadu (Team 2)
Didi Sir and Shafiu Ali led their team into the GRAND FINAL with a wobbly at the start but comprehensive victory in the end.
Aishath Aima scored well off her legs but ran out of support as they reach a run a ball 36 from 6 Overs.
In reply, Didi 22 and Shafiu 11 finished the job in 20 Balls.
This sets up what will surely be a good match of cricket in the GRAND FINAL.
Final Match to start at 4:30pm on Saturday 30th April.

Opening Friendly Match
4:30pm: Fuvahmulah City Council v Fuvahmulah Juniors
An 8 Overs per innings friendly match between an invitational Fuvahmulah City Council team and Fuvahmulah Cricket Academy Juniors took place at Fuvahmulah Cricket Ground today.
Led by H.E. Vice President, the team from the Council had an impressive stable of players. Opening the batting, Fuvahmulah City Mayor Ismail Rafeeq and Mohamed Mihad, MD of Island Aviation Services were kept quiet by some tight fast bowling from the Juniors.
After Mihad was caught by Mabsar at mid-wicket, VP came in and controlled the remainder of the innings Not Out 17 with 3 boundaries.
Deputy State Minister Shafiu Ali ran like lightning between the stumos in support of VP as they reached 67 from 8 Overs.
In reply, the Juniors thought they can wrap up a quick victory on their home ground after a quick-fire 13 from 4 balls by Azin Rafeeq. However, VP snaffled the dangerman with a yorker. Stumps Everywhere.
Raid Wasif, Nooh Nizam and Azooz battled on agaist some cunning bowling and just pipped the win with 1 ball to spare.
Fuvahmulah Juniors won by 4 wickets.

4:15pm: Team 2 Friends Club Funaadu vs Dhadimagu Sixers
The first match of the Tournament took place today at Fuvahmulah Cricket Ground. Two teams of new players took to the field and undertook an exciting game with smiles all round.Batting first, Friends Club Funaadu Team 2 scored an interesting 24 runs for 6 wickets.
Dhadimagu Sixers bowled a tight line and were exceptional in the field taking catches and reducing the run-rate.In reply, The Sixers wrapped things up in the 5th Over. Ibrahim Areesh, opening the innings, top scored with 15 from just 7 balls.
Dhadimagu Sixers won by 2 wickets.

Group Match 3
4:15pm: Fuvahmulah City Council v Dhoondigalona
A fast paced battle took place between the young hot shots of Dhoondigalona and the City Council Team.
Batting first, The City Council team scored easy runs thanks to the careful batting and placement of the ball from Didi Sir 16 and Deputy State Minister Shafiu Ali 14 retired.
In all they scored 69 from 6 Overs.
It looks like the youngsters of Dhoondigalona were over confident going into the match and didnt really give their full effort to play like we know they can and their heads were down from ball one of their innings.
Mohamed Ariz top scored with 22 but was let down with support. Player of the match in no doubt was Shafiu Ali, along with his runs took two wickets and a catch from a skier off his own bowling.
Fuvahmulah City Council won by 8 runs.
Group Match 4
5:15pm: Geragando Fanno v Ekuveri Funaadu
Winning the toss, Geragando Fannu chose to bat first and scored 54 runs for 3 wickets thanks to some rusty bowling from the Funaadu boys.
In reply, Ekuveri Funaadu were kept under pressure by tight bowling from the young Mizyaan, taking a wicket for just 7 runs from 2 overs.
There was magic in the field as Mohamed Joodh Shaafee wowed the crowd with a direct hit run out.
Geragando Fanno won by 15 runs.

4:15pm: Dhadimagu Sixers v Team 1 Friends CLub Funaadu
Ibrahim Areesh top score yet again for Dhadimagu Sixers. Arrité blasted 32 from 14 balls as his team reached 61 for 2 wickets from 6 Overs.
In reply, struggled to get going on a hot and dry afternoon finishing the innings with 33 runs.
Dhadimagu Sixers won by 19 runs.
Group Match 6
5:15pm: Dhoondigalona v Ekuveri Funaadu
Batting first and under pressure to win today after yesterdays forst match loss, Dhoondigalona tried their best and made a respectable 54/5 from 6 Overs.
In reply, Ekuveri Funaadu batsman Mohamed Maail worked the field beautifully and picking off the bad balls scoring 23 from 20 balls.
When push cam to shove, the Dhoondigalona boys cranked up the pressure in the final 2 Overs to see victory through.
Dhoondigalona won by 6 runs.

4:15pm: Geragando Fanno v Fuvahmulah City Council
The Fuvahmulah City Council team won with just 2 balls to spare in a drama filled match.
Batting first Mizyaan top scored to bring the Gergando Fanno guys to 41.
In reply, FCC led by the evergreen Didi Sir, who scored 21 from 19 runs crept over the finish line batting against some tight and brave bowling from the two youngsters Joodh and Mizyaan.
With just 2 balls remaining Ahmed Saeed and City Mayor Ismail Rafeeq saw their team to victory.
Fuvahmulah City Council won by 2 wickets.

5:15pm: Geragando Fanno v Dhoondigalona
Riyan Riyaz played a captains role as he led his team into the Semi-Finals.
Geragando batting first stgruggled against the renaissance like bowling of Hussain Raaish and Mohamed Ariz, but fought on to score 41 runs yet again.
Captain Riyan hit 3 boundaries on his way to 20 Not Out and jubliantly left the field knowsing his team had secured a place in the Semi-Finals.
Dhoondigalona won by 4 wickets.

4:15pm: Friends Club Funaadu Team 1 v Friends Club Funaadu Team 2
The last Semi-Final spot was up for grabs between both Teams from Friends Club Funaadu.
Team 2 Won the toss and chose to bat first, Mary Sama and Khadeeja Sama held the fort for a long period and managed to create a target of 48 for Team 1 to win.
The Target was enough despite a late raly from Rafeeu scoring 16 from 11 balls including a last over blast of 4-4-6 before being out with 2 balls to spare.
Friends Club Funaadu Team 2 won by 6 runs.
Group Match 12
5:15pm: Fuvahmulah City Council v Ekuveri Funaadu
The second match of the day was to see if the Fuvahmulah City Council team could make it 3 wins from 3 and win Group B ahead of Ekuveri Funaadu.
For Ekuvery Funaadu, a team with some good players, it was chance to gain a must welcome first win of the tournament so they wouldn’t end with 3 defeats.
Batting first for Fuvahmulah City Council the ever competetive Shafiu Ali kept his nerve against some fast paced bowling to whittle out 10 runs and secure 35 runs in the bag to defend.
The juniors of Ekuveni Funaadu lost key wickets at key times needing just 4 runs from 2 balls, Aaidh was bowled and the match was over.
Fuvahmulah City Council won by 2 runs.
