8 fun-based cricket activities were undertaken by the children and helped along by 25+ group of senior players that explained each ‘Activity-Station’ and the corresponding SAARC country flag that identified each area of the cricket ground.
The CBM extends a warm appreciation of the commitment shown by Mohamed Jamaluddin School and Brightway International School in providing this opportunity to the children.
We look forward to building closer relationships and offering more and more opportunities for the youngsters to experience cricket.
Monday 20 November see’s the Hulhumalé Junior Cricket Carnival take place in partnership with Rehendhi School.
The action is scheduled to take place from 7am to 9am.
Cricket Carnivals and events such as this are a vital and welcome opportunity to encourage players of all ages to begin to ‘give something back’ as they are tasked with delivering an activity to the children and an opportunity to demonstrate their leadership skills.
Over these two days, we witnessed even the youngest players have the ability to demonstrate the basics of cricket and share that with the students.
The CBM development programmes and investments in Fuvahmulah City have produced 19 players that have represented Maldives at Senior Men’s, Senior Women’s, U19 Men’s and U16 Boys International Level since 2017.
We hope more future international players have had their first taste of cricket during these carnival days.
