PREMIER LEAGUE SCORECARDS, LEADERBOARDS & STANDINGS
The Jumhooree T20 Premier League and Championship have been created to provide regular playing opportunities to the cricket clubs of the Maldives to introduce & develop the next generation of cricketers to competitive cricket matching International Cricket Council (ICC) development programmes.
This year will be about introducing Clubs here to continue playing cricket, practicing cricket and involved in cricket for the remainder of this year; with one eye on continuing the structure into 2019.

The ICC has recommended that playing regular domestic cricket is important for the growth and improvement of cricket played by it’s Associate and Affiliate Members and that the development and support of clubs and the junior players involved in clubs is of vital importance to the future of cricket.
These T20 competitions are all about entertainment and cricket is the vehicle. It is a fast paced format of cricket that is full colour and there is always a winner! It’s this form of cricket and an exciting two division structure that will encourage younger people to play and watch cricket.
Cricket Board of Maldives working with the Ministry of Home Affairs and the Ministry of Youth & Sports has provided the funding for this tournament. C.B.M. will make the statistics and game reports easily accessible via Social Media, traditional media outlets in Maldives and the maldivescricket.org website.
It is of great importance that club managers, captains and players follow on from the success of the ‘STO T20 Blast’ played in August 2015 and the Maldives Premier Cricket League in 2016 & 2017 to encourage your clubs and teammates to take part in these tournaments. The success of this tournament also opens up wider and more lucrative commercial opportunities for cricket with more sponsorship money required more than ever to grow the game both internationally and in the Maldives.
