03.11.22 – Match 43
Milan Cricket Academy v Vyansa

Milan Cricket Academy were presented as CHAMPIONS of the MILO 2022 T20 Maldives Premier Cricket League at the conclusion of their match with Vyansa at Ekuveni Cricket Ground.

The team from Milan have remained the only unbeaten team in this competition and deservedly so with some excellent team and individual performances.

The squad of players took 66 wickets and scored a mighty 1236 runs in 9 matches. A superb point to mention is the use of the squad; with captain Azyan and fast bowler Hassan Ibrahim departing Maldives during the competition to play competitive cricket in Australia, the players selected in their place stepped up to the mark and delivered the consistency required to remain unbeaten.

The Cricket Board of Maldives wishes to congratulate Milan Cricket Academy and their efforts on and off the field to develop and importantly, retain home-grown talent in an era when all aspects of cricket around the world have been affected in recent years.

The match played today was an example of this with top-scorer Ali Shunan (36) playing a patient innings to ensure his team, batting first, posted a competitive target even with deserved celebrations being prepared in the corner of his eye.

AIZY, in reply to the 148 total set, battled against the excellent all-round bowling of Milan, to post 125 All-Out with Kamrul playing an attractive knock to score 54 for himself.
Each of the 6 Milan bowlers took a wicket with Shunan bagging 3 with his range of leg-breaks and googly’s.

Player of the Match – Kamrul Islam

The cricket Board of Maldives wishes to thank all the players, officials, clubs and wonderful support of the teams for their hard work and dedication required to play in this competition.
