CRC won the toss and chose to put the Police into bat first. Opener Kasun scored a powerful 35 from 14 balls and Ismail Naseer helped himself to 23 runs from 14 balls.
Oliul Islam was once again in the runs with a vital 32 from 10 balls near the end of their allotted 8 Overs scoring a total of 124/3.
Mahmood Riyaz picked up a pair of wickets as the in-form bowler for CRC.
In reply, Mohamed Amir, dependable as always, scored a target chasing 33 from 17 balls. However, the Police bowlers sent down some unplayable deliveries and took key wickets at key moments.
Naail Islam steadied the CRC ship with 20 runs from 11 balls in vain as Police kept the line and length in perfect order to become Champions of this years Office Tournament.
Police won by 31 runs.

Day 1 – 04.04.23
MMA v DSC
MMA batted first and both openers made positive strokes. Abdulla Rasheed Abdulla (23 runs from 13 balls) and Ibrahim Saif (17 runs from 6 balls) built a good foundation.
Mohamed Shareef, the pick of the DSC bowlers bowled superbly to bag himself 3 wickets for just 15 runs and severely dented the chances of MMA putting a strong innings together as they finished their allotted 8 Overs with 92/6.
In reply, Ismail Nashid (34 from 10 balls) and Mohamed Shareef (22* from 13 balls) did enough in quick-time to secure win number 1 with just 4 Overs bowled.

MIRA won the toss and chose to bat first. A wise choice with a strong batting lineup that scored 157 runs from 8 Overs. Mohamed Yeasin Ali and Kamrul scored 36 and 33 respectively and were backed up by a booming 18 runs from just 4, yes four balls!
Team Khaarijee bowler Mohamed Faisal bagged himself 2 wickets and Adam Hamid picked upm 1 for a rather tasty 55 from his 2 Overs.
In reply, the Foreign Office team battled through their 8 Overs to score 79/3. Ahmed Latheef not-out on 19 from balls was the pick of the batsmen while Kamrul took 3 wickets for an impressive 8 runs conceded.
MIRA won by 78 runs.
Day 2 – 05.04.23
MYSCE v IMMIGRATION
Immigration were put into bat first and struggled from the first Over as Ahmed Amir went for 2 runs and Ali Nawau for a 3 ball duck.
Sais Mohamed gave a good show scoring 11 from 10 balls before holing out to a jaffer from Minister Ahmed Mahloof. The rest of the team battled on to finish with 76/7 from 8 Overs.
MYSCE bowlers Saiful Islam 2 wickets and Minister Ahmed Mahloof snaffled himself 3 wickets.
In reply, it was Saiful Islam and the Minister that prevailed with 33 and 13 runs each. A flurry of wickets followed including the run-out of Imad Ismail for 1. The Ministry of Youth, Sports and Community Empowerment went on to reach the target at the end of the 5th Over scoring 77/4.

The Presidents Office won the toss and elected to bowl and it looked like the batsmen of MMA were ready for the challenge as both openers did well scoring 29 for Abdulla Rasheed Abdulla and 24 by Ahmed Shihad Abdul Hameed. Ismail Shareef was not-out with 11 from 11 balls. However, the tail-enders didn’t add much more as they reached 106/3 form their 8 Overs.
Kumar bagged 2 wickets as pick of the Presidents Office Team.

A tied match, a first for many years in the Ramadan Cricket Carnival!
MIRA batted first and Mohamed Jinah, 31 from 21 balls and Kamrul, 34 from 13 balls, scored fast and briskly to bring a total of 113 runs for 2 wickets from their 8 Overs.
Naail Ismail and Mohamed Amir took 1 wicket each.
In reply, Customs reached the same total of 113 runs for 2 wickets from their 8 Overs. Mohamed Amir, 24 from 25 balls and Haikal, 16 from 15 balls did enough for their team to earn half the points on offer for the first match of the day.

DSC v PO-MRC
A high scoring game in todays match As DSC won the toss and chose to bat first against The Presidents Office.
Mohamed Shareef top scored for DSC with a respectable 34 from 19 balls including 5 booming maximums. Ismail Nashid scored 4 maximums of his own to reach 31 form 14 balls and Ahmed Tholath chipped in with 18 runs from 10 balls.
Saheer & Ibrahim Hussain took a wicket each and H.E. Vice President Faisal Naseem brought a run-out as DSC reached 132/3 from their 8 Overs.
In reply, H.E. Vice President scored an ‘in-form’ 35 from just 12 balls with 4 maximums. His fellow opener, Saheer, scored 35 from 12 balls before both took mandatory retirement after scoring more than 30 runs.
H.E. President, Ibrahim Mohamed Solih made a valuable contribution of 16 alongside Kamal’s not-out 13 from 4 balls to see their team across the finish line with a bizarre 10 runs scored from the last ball of the innings!

The Foreign Ministry Team Khaarijee won the toss and chose to bat first. However, both openers struggled to get into first gear with 20 runs scored from a combined 38 balls. With just 10 balls remaining of the innings, CBM President Mohamed Faisal scored 3 maximums and 2 boundaries to take his score to 29 not-out and his teams score to 104 from their 8 Overs.
In reply, Customs Recreation Club lost just 1 wicket on their way to victory. Naail Ismail scored 22 from 16 balls before being bowled by Ahmed. Mohamed Amir and Haikal were both not-out on 27 and 19 as they brought the points home with 5 balls to spare.

IMMIGRATION v POLICE
Police made it 2 wins from 2 and secured their place in the Semi-finals as Group C winners with a victory over Immigration in today’s single match.
Immigration won the toss and chose to bowl first. Kasun scored 25 from 6 balls, Ismail Naseer 28 from 10 balls, Moosa Waseem 21 from 13 balls and a not-out innings from Oliul Islam scoring 26 runs from 14 balls. Police set a target of 124/4.
In reply, Immigration lost opener Ahmed Amir for a duck, and all the other batsmen for single figures except the 26 scored by Sais Mohamed. Immigration fought on but finished with 78/6 from their 8 Overs.

PRESIDENT’S OFFICE v CUSTOMS RECREATION CLUB
Customs Recreation won the toss and chose to put the President’s Office into bat first. Openers, H.E. Vice President Faisal Naseem scored 34 from 12 balls and Saheer scored 35 from 10 balls both retired after scoring more than 30 runs.
Kumar and Kamal joined them in retirement scoring 16 and 9 each. H.E. President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih came in for the final over and scored a not-out 1 alongside Mohamed Muthasim Mohamed also with 1 run not-out setting a reasonable total of 129.
In reply, the Customs batsmen were up for the challenge and laid down both openers likewise with retirements for both openers as Mohamed Amir (31 from 12 balls) and Haikal (31 from 17 balls). Captain Mahmood Riyaz followed on with a blistering 29 from just 9 balls as he and Naail Ismail finished both not-out and booked their team into tomorrow’s Final Match.
Customs Recreation Club won by 7 wickets.

Ismail Naseer was the pick of the bowlers bagging 3 wickets from 18 runs from 2 Overs.
In reply, Police took little time to knock off the target despite losing both openers in quick time. At the half-way stage of the innings, Police were 37/3.
The MIRA bowlers dug deep to find something special and performed really well. However, the target was chipped away over by over until Ismail Naseer and Ibrahim Faiz saw the victory and sealed their place in the Final Match.Police won by 2 wickets.
