Asian cricket is witnessing the emergence of young talent as the Cricket Board of Maldives proudly participates in the Asian Cricket Council Men’s U19 Premier Cup 2023.
Matches began on 12 October 2023.
Groups and Teams
The participating teams will be divided into four formidable groups, setting the tone for riveting clashes. Three groups will find themselves immersed in the cricket friendly atmosphere of Selangor/Kuala Lumpur, while one group will test their mettle in Johor.

Group C Singapore, Kuwait, Thailand, Maldives
Group D Hong Kong, Malaysia, Japan, Indonesia
Played in a 50-over format under the MCC Laws, the ACC Men’s U19 Premier Cup 2023 promises another chapter of cricketing development for all the nations involved.

Maldives v Thailand
Maldives captain Mohamed Rayan led from the front as his side were put into bat first. Inni gs top scorer with 21, Maldives set Thailand a target of 83 to win.
In reply, Thailand lost 2 wickets to the bowling of Miuvan and Khalaf as they went on to reach 86/2 in the 12th Over.
Thailand look to be a very well organised squad at this level and credit to their nations’ development plans – they could go all the way in this tournament.

Maldives Squad Selection Underway
The foundation of development rests on the shoulders of a dynamic squad, and after a selection process where coaches scoured the cricket playing regions of Maldives to unearth a blend of experience and potential that embodies the spirit of our U19 Men’s Squad. With an eye on both present capability and future promise, the squad is crafted from a pool of eligible players born after Aug 31st 2003.
The participating teams will converge on Malaysia; starting on 12 October 2023, the event will see teams engaging in battles of skill and strategy. The tournament venues are the KUALA LUMPUR/SELANGOR – YSD-UKM Oval Bayuemas Oval and JOHOR – Dato Dr Harjit Singh Johor Cricket Council & Academy Oval.
