2024 Ramadan Cricket Carnival – Fuvahmulah City

The Fuvahmulah City edition of the Ramadan Cricket Carnival 2024 was held at Fuvahmulah Cricket Ground during the month of Ramadan in partnership with the Cricket Board of Maldives and Fuvahmulah City Council. 

This exciting sporting event aimed to promote community engagement, unity, and the ‘spirit of cricket’ among the residents of Fuvahmulah.

Objectives

  • To foster a culture of sportsmanship and camaraderie through cricket.
  • To provide a platform for local cricket enthusiasts to showcase their talent and skills.
  • To promote active participation in sports and physical activity among the residents of Fuvahmulah.
  • To strengthen partnerships between the Cricket Board of Maldives, Fuvahmulah City Council, and the local community through collaborative initiatives.

Tournament Details

The tournament was played in a round-robin format followed by semifinals and a Final. Local teams from Fuvahmulah City registered to participate with a maximum of 12 players per team. Matches were held at Fuvahmulah Cricket Ground in Fuvahmulah City, providing a suitable and safe environment for the tournament. 

The tournament took place over two weeks in the holy month of Ramadan.

Partnership Details

The Cricket Board of Maldives will provide technical support, guidance, participation prizes, jerseys and expertise in organising the tournament.

Fuvahmulah City Council will assist in logistical arrangements, venue coordination, prize money and community outreach to ensure the success of the event.

This Cricket Carnival in Fuvahmulah City promises to be an exciting and memorable event that celebrates the love of cricket and community spirit. Through this partnership with the Cricket Board of Maldives and Fuvahmulah City Council, we aimed to create a positive impact on the local community and foster a culture of sportsmanship and unity.
