Cricket Board of Maldives President, Mohamed Aflah and General Secretary, Ibrahim Shaaz Habeeb are attending the Asian Cricket Council Annual General Meeting held in Colombo, Sri Lanka.
The first item on the itinerary was to formally open the Asian Cricket Council Head Office which was completed this afternoon during a marvellous ceremony with addresses from the Sri Lanka Cricket Board President; Hon. Thilanga Sumathipala, Minister of Sport; Hon. Dayasiri Jayasekara, Minister of Finance; Hon. Ravi Karunanayake.
The A.G.M. is a great opportunity to meet old friends and create new friends within the international cricket community. Mr Aflah and Mr Habeeb have met with Pakistan Cricket Board chairman and with Afghanistan Cricket Board C.E.O. today.
Tomorrow there will be many opportunities to learn and understand how Maldives cricket can add value to cricket within Asia and how our fellow Asian countries can assist and support cricket here in the Maldives as each of the 26 members presents an overview of cricket within their country and where the Asian Cricket Council can encourage development of all levels of the game.
