CBM President Mohamed Aflah and Vice President Madih Ismail participated in Asian Cricket Council (ACC)’s Annual General Meeting held on 2nd and 3rd September in Bangkok, Thailand.
The AGM was attended by top-ranked officials from other ACC members as well. The participants discussed the ACC’s 2019-2020 plan as well as Development and operational budget for the same period.
The meeting commenced with the presentation of ACC’s 2018 annual report that emphasised the transparency of affairs and development of the game during the period.
Addressing the meeting, President Mohamed Aflah reiterated CBM commitment and delivered a presentation to the participants highlighting cricket in the Maldives during 2018; demonstrating to growth in participation, infrastructure and National Teams.
President Aflah also met with BCCI Rahul Johri and thanked him, the BCCI and Indian Government on behalf of the CBM and Maldives cricket community for their ongoing assistance to the development of cricket across our archipelago.
Building bridges further, Mr Aflah met Mr Ehsan from Pakistan about how both countries can work together for more assistance in 2020. Also, met with Sri Lanka Cricket President Shammi Silva regarding assistance of coaches for junior Youth Development Programmes and women’s cricket.
The past 3 years has seen the Cricket Board of Maldives relationship with the Asian Cricket Council flourish and in-turn, President Aflah has delivered new relationships with our Test playing neighbours; India, Pakistan and Sri Lanka.
