As part of 2015 Maldives Republic Day celebrations, President Abdulla Yameen hosted a ceremony and presented cricket fan and former national team cricketer Mr. Faruhath Jaleel with a Sports Services Award for his tireless work with cricket and many other sports in Maldives.
Over many years Mr. Jaleel has been the foundation rock of many cricketing activities both for the National Cricket Team, Milan Cricket Academy and Milan Cricket Club.
Milan Cricket Academy works to provide exposure of cricket to juniors all over the country via various workshops and teams, culminating in the senior team consisting of many talented juniors. Milan Cricket Academy will also compete for the prestigious National Cricket Tournament in November & December 2015.
Mr. Jaleel has found a successful balance between developing youngsters and experienced senior players by providing a training framework that brought the Academy a semi-final appearance in this years S.T.O. T20 Blast Tournament.
On behalf of all those involved in cricket here in Maldives; we congratulate ‘Faroo’ on his award and wish him continued success with his services to sport. All of us who know Mr. Jaleel know he will continue to give to sport for many years to come!
