Joy for MNDF and MIRA on day 2 of the ‘COAST Ramadan Cricket Carnival – Office Tournament’. Misery for CSC and Police Club.
CSC v MNDF (MNDF won by 79 Runs)
CSC won the toss and put MNDF into bat. 8 overs later MNDF has scored an impressive 135/2. Top scorer Ahmed Ikram blasted 31 runs, Ibrahim Riyaz (21) and Abdulla Shahid chipped in with 15 runs also. Ali Amir and H.Hassan Maumoon teased a wicket each.
In reply CSC managed to score a timid 56 for the loss of 7 cheap wickets thanks in part to the bowling figures of 2 overs for 7 runs and taking 5 wickets! Hilmy and Nashid completed CSC’s misery by taking a wicket each.
MIRA v Police Club (MIRA won by 36 Runs)
The Police Club picked the right side of the coin and decided to have a bowl first at the opposition. MIRA lost captain Shahid for a golden duck (ouch), Ahmed Hassan burgled a quick fire 35, Moosa Jinah (15) rescued MIRA a comfortable score of 109/2 was achieved off the full 8 overs. Firushan 16/2 in 2 overs were the bowling figures worthy of note.
In reply Police Club managed to score a non-competetive 73 in 8 overs. Police lost 5 wkts. Hussain Azham (15) and Mohamed Hassan (13) runs. Ahmed Hassan, Moosa Jinah and Anif each one wicket.
