With the strong support of the islanders and the dedication from Mr Lirgam, the first ever 50 overs cricket match played at Kunahandhoo took place today on 15th January 2016 between YDP Girls against YDP Boys.
Winning the toss YDP Boys decided to bat and scored 234 in 49 overs. In reply YDP Girls started slow but managed to score 221/7 in 45 overs before bad light stop the match.
Coach Lirgham Saeed took the unenviable task of calculating a Duckworth Lewis result to the YDP Girls winning by 39 Runs.
The people of Kunahandhoo have some big plans to expand their ground and cricket in 2016…best of luck to them!
