M.S.H.H.S.A. win by 4 wickets
M.S. Helping Hands Sports Academy claimed the 2017 ALIA U19 Presidents Cup by reaching the target of 116 runs set by C.B.L.
Winning the toss, C.B.L. captain Azyan decided to bat, looking to post a high target and after 5 Overs the plan looked to be going well with 26 scored in the first 5 overs.
Aman and Hadaad bowled out there best, Hidaad bowled out his best spell, non stop 10 demolishing the top order batsman. Hidaad 10 overs 27 for 4 wickets. Venkat and Thusar aslo took two wicket each. CBL were struggling for 53/7 when young Yasin and Shauf100, The innings was rescued by Shauf who played a patient 36 runs off 66 balls before he too headed back to the pavilion clean bowled by Thushar.
Finally CBL manage to score 115 in 31.1 overs.
In reply, C.B.L. bowlers applied the pressure needed when defending a low total to take the first 3 wickets for 28 runs. Mafaz and Azyan bowled out their 20 for 31 runs. But they manage to take a wicket each. Yaugoob (35) and Aman (20*) to bravely face the next 22 Overs and forge a partnership of 75 runs; possibly the partnership of the tournament.
The pair were set to reach the target but a bowling change by C.B.L. bringing on young Rafil helped tip the balance of pressure one way and then the next as he snapped Yaugoob wicket LBW and then sent Hadaad’s stumps flying.
In the 40th Over Aman and Luayyu were on the field to secure victory for their team.

Tournament awards were presented by Chief Guests Mohamed Shareef, Leena Madam, Executive Committee members and Maldives National team players. Ceremony held at Ekuveni Cricket Ground immediately at the conclusion of the match.
