The Cricket Board of Maldives (Maldives Cricket) has launched ‘Plan120’; a four month plan aimed at laying a solid foundation to launch the work of the new Executive Committee to strengthen and deepen the development of cricket in the Maldives.
The plan aims to complete essential tasks in the areas of management, game development, infrastructure maintenance/renovation and technical development.
The plan also aims to undertake the preparation of a new four year strategic plan as well as revising the Constitution of the Board to strengthen governance of the body.
Within the 120 days, CBM aims to put in place structures to streamline matters relating to national teams, grass roots and YDP cricket, clubs, coaching, data management and marketing.
A regional development plan will also be put in place to feed into the new strategic plan.
Maldives Cricket President Mohamed Faisal noted that the aim of the plan was to attend to essential tasks that need to be quickly completed in order for the Board to focus on long term development.
According to Faisal, the new Executive Committee came with a manifesto focusing on growing playing numbers, strengthening clubs and producing outstanding cricketers and that Plan120 will lay the foundations to start a solid innings in achieving these goals.
He further added that Plan120 will be executed in consultation with clubs, players and all stakeholders and that teams consisting of Executive Committee members and management staff have been identified to execute the plan.
