Cricket Board of Maldives President, Mohamed Aflah as the recent elected member of the Asian Cricket Council Board took part in his first Executive Committee Meeting in Dhaka, Bangladesh last week.
Having a seat round such a table is an extremely positive move for cricket in the Maldives and Asia. Amongst many topics discussed and actioned was the keenness to continue building strong foundations of development in Maldives; from grass-roots to High Performance Programmes for elite players.
The Asian Cricket Council is keen to assist in facility development around the country and the encouragement of new players to pick up bat and ball for the first time.
It was the first ACC meeting chaired by the Bangladesh Cricket Board president Nazmul Hasan since he took over as the president of the regional body in its Annual General Meeting in Lahore, Pakistan recently.
