Three of Maldives most promising cricketers travelled to Sri Lanka on Thursday 27th August 2015 for at least 30 days of cricket experience.
The players and the National Development Coach, Nilantha Cooray, were seen off on their journey by a strong support of family, friends and Cricket Board of Maldives President Ahmed Hassan Didi, General Secretary Ismail Nihad & EXCO Member Ahmed Amir.
Yaaseen Ahmed, Ali Shunan and Adam Nasif will be playing for Old Moratu Vidylaya & Sebastinites C in the Sri Lanka National Under 23 Division 1 & Division 2 Tournaments taking place in September and October.

The talented trio will be taking part in all aspects of cricket that Sri Lankans of the same age are exposed to; from training sessions, fitness drills, group coaching, individual coaching, through to gaining valuable experience playing matches on grass pitches (something which we do not have here in Maldives).
Yaaseen Ahmed, a promising fast bowler, is keen to develop ‘an extra yard of pace’ whilst visiting the Lanka facilities. Mobile off spinner, Adam Nasif, is targeting wickets, runs and catches during his time. Whilst Ali Shunan, a devastating cricketer with both bat and ball, is eyeing an overall improvement applying his talent in the field of play.
In partnership with the players families, The Cricket Board of Maldives is supporting the youngsters to not only develop their playing skills but to also develop and nurture their professionalism and discipline by providing a competitive environment in which they can prove themselves and no doubt flourish.
We wish them all the best in their travels as young ambassadors for Maldives Cricket.
